Meer is the Director and Head Coach at ETHOS Performance, a leading high-performance facility dedicated to the long-term development of combat athletes.
His journey in Strength & Conditioning began during his studies at the University of Sydney, where he completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise & Sports Science). After gaining his ASCA accreditation, Meer volunteered at the NSW Institute of Sport and identified a clear need for specialised athletic development within combat sports. This vision led him to the U.S., where he trained under world-renowned performance coach Loren Landow at the internationally recognised Landow Performance facility in Denver, Colorado.
Upon returning home, Meer founded ETHOS Performance with a focus on creating a true home for combat athletes. Since opening in 2020, ETHOS has grown into a multi-disciplinary team of strength coaches, sports scientists, and allied health professionals who coach over 60 combat athletes in person weekly, and more than 100 remotely, from rising amateurs to globally ranked professionals.
Meer and the ETHOS team have prepared athletes for over 10 world title campaigns/championships, with more than half of those athletes going on to become world champions. Their athletes have competed in over 300 matches globally across seven combat sport disciplines, including Olympians, Commonwealth Games representatives, and multiple national and international medallists.
While combat sports remain at the heart of what Meer does, he has built a team that has successfully extended ETHOS’ systems into other sporting codes, supporting athletes across the A-League, NBL, and NRL, as well as elite juniors, semi-professionals, and fully contracted professionals in sports like soccer, basketball, rugby league, rugby sevens, and cricket.
Alongside coaching, Meer leads the ETHOS Mentorship Program, designed to support and guide emerging coaches and allied health professionals through practical development, leadership, and high-performance education. He also provides weekly mentorship to his internal team to ensure continual growth and excellence within the organisation.
Meer is an active contributor to the wider industry and has presented for leading organisations such as the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA), PLAE, and ACU, continuing to speak nationally on performance systems within combat sports.
In his spare time, you’ll find Meer outdoors in nature, travelling, and spending time in his favourite role, being a father.
