Meet Erik Bryant

“Developing speed, strength, and resilience is powerful – but helping an athlete realise their potential as a person is the part of coaching that stays with you forever.”

“There’s little more I love than seeing athletes relentlessly pursue who they could be. My passion is putting athletes in a space where they’re perfectly poised to realise their potential.”

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Growing up playing football and cricket, my passion for sport truly ignited after discovering rugby while watching the 2011 Rugby World Cup. At 16, a third collarbone break pushed me to start strength training and prioritise proper nutrition – nine months and nearly 15 kilograms later, I was hooked on the process.

That transformation led to one of my proudest achievements: becoming one of the youngest international rugby union players in history, making my debut for Singapore at just 17 years old in a test match against Thailand. Since then, I’ve captained the U20s team and represented Singapore across both 7s and 15s international competitions.

My passion for strength and conditioning has shaped both my athletic and academic journey. I hold a bachelor’s degree and am currently completing a master’s in High Performance Sport at UTS. Alongside my studies, I’ve gained hands-on experience coaching globally, including at Millfield School (UK), the University of Colorado Boulder (USA), and most recently with the Wests Tigers (NRL) and GWS Giants (AFL), before joining ETHOS.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue developing as both a coach and athlete. I currently hold S&C roles at the NSW Institute of Sport, lead the SG Ball Balmain Tigers program, and coach at ETHOS, all while continuing to play rugby for Gordon and Singapore Rugby.
