Riley Kerr

Strength & Conditioning Coach

I grew up surrounded by health, fitness, and sport, which shaped my values early on. From martial arts to team sports, I threw myself into every opportunity to move, compete, and grow. I trained in Taekwondo and Karate, competed nationally with ISKA, and eventually found my way to boxing and bodybuilding.

At 15, I became Australia’s youngest IFBB champion, winning the National Teenage Men’s Physique title. I completed my fitness qualifications while still in high school and entered the industry at 17.

Over time, my focus shifted from aesthetics to performance. I discovered a passion for combat strength and conditioning, blending martial arts with strength training to help fighters perform at their peak. I moved to Wollongong, built my coaching career from the ground up, and eventually connected with Meer and the ETHOS team.

To better understand what my athletes go through, I stepped into the cage myself for an amateur MMA fight, committing to the full experience of camp and weight cut. It gave me a deeper appreciation of the physical and mental demands of the sport and made me a more empathetic, precise coach.

Now, I lead the Jersey Flegg squad as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the St George Illawarra Dragons, while continuing to coach here at ETHOS. I still train in MMA and strength for fun, but my biggest passion is helping athletes grow, both in sport and beyond.
