Often, we are overwhelmed by all of the areas we feel like we need to work on.

And to that, we say: “we hear you”.

That’s why we’ve created our complete Off-Season Athlete Identity Project. From technical/tactical training to strength & conditioning, this process has been refined and implemented for some of Australia’s top up-and-coming hoopers. And now it’s ready for you.

We know that when it comes to getting better, you don’t have time to waste. That’s why we’ve partnered up with G.O.E and created the perfect off-season for hoopers who want to give it everything they’ve got this off-season.

Our off-season process is unlike any other in Australia. Even in a professional setting, it’s rare to find tailored 1-to-1 work that integrates both skill & S&C into one complete package.

Introducing the Ethos X G.O.E Athlete Identity project

At G.O.E and Ethos Performance, we work with real athletes.

The Off-Season is a vital part of your skill development. The G.O.E Off-Season Program will allow you to hone in on your skills, evolve your identity and use this off-season freedom to express and grow in ways you couldn’t during the season. Whether it be 4 to a 3 or 1 to a 2, developing a three-point shot or tightening up your handle, the off-season is the home of this evolution.

At G.O.E we revolve the development process around your athlete identity. This is a representation of what and who you feel like on and off the court and underpins everything you do as a basketball player.

Used by Professional and College players, G.O.E’s Athlete Identity Project is now ready for YOU. No matter your age or skill level, you will receive an elite level service to make this off-season your best.

With the G.O.E team, you will be guided through reflection & analysis of your identity as a player. We will analyse your gameplay, and work through your skills to make your development journey as uniquely effective for you as possible.

When we combine this with our Ethos tailored performance training system, we give you the rocket fuel your game needs to help you step up to the next level.

Our Process

What will this off-season look like for you?

Test

To get the most out of you, we first must understand your strengths, weaknesses and talents that make you the athlete you are. The Ethos Performance Testing Battery is built to give us the most thorough assessment possible so we know exactly how to plan.

Your G.O.E initial assessment and coach consult will rank and assess various parts of your game in great detail to finalise our assessment of your skills.

Plan

With such a thorough assessment process, all that needs to be done is to put together the plan.

The Ethos Performance and Grind Over Everything team will be able to go through the following with you:

  1. What your test results mean for your program & how that will cater to you being able to maximise your athletic ability.

  2. What you need to improve on from last season

  3. What your training week will look like to get the most from the time you have out of season.

  4. What your physical and skill strengths are and how we can amplify them to optimise your true player identity.

Train

And then we get to work. Now that you have done your homework on your player identity & we have all the facts in front of us, we can determine precisely what you need to work on to get where you want to go.

Common results you can expect in an off-season (depending on your athlete identity & specific goals):

  1. 5% faster

  2. 5-10 inch vert increase

  3. 2-5 kgs muscle gain

  4. +10% boost in shooting %

  5. Decrease in BF % to around 8-10% total body fat.

Just In Case you’re sitting on the fence still, if you take nothing else, please don’t make this mistake.

The Critical Mistake Most Athletes Make In Their Off-Seasons That Causes them to stay the same…

Most athletes simply do what’s in front of them. What worked for them in-season.

They usually go out, get a few shots up & just simply play.

They don’t plan appropriately.

They keep doing what they’ve always done.

They don’t do a needs analysis & look at what they really need to do!!!

There’s a reason why they use the term: Summer Legs

For NBA players there is a clear perception of what a proper off-season can do for their performance. An off-season that takes into account all of the weak areas of that particular athlete & puts a plan in place to address them.

As we mentioned above there are critical qualities that we can’t train effectively during the season. This is because these qualities take time & energy to recover from. If we tried to do them in-season we would simply be too fatigued. But in the off-season, we can re-focus our attention.

In case you don’t believe us look at the example to the right. You will never see Steph doing this in-game because he simply plays too often to be able to sustain jumping performance like this at his genetic makeup, however, if his season was shorter & he had a bigger off-season, perhaps this would be a regular possibility for him.

In our Off-Season program, we do a comprehensive needs analysis, using our state of the art testing equipment to make summer legs a year-round reality for all of the athletes we work with (after all our athletes aren’t playing 82 games, 3 days per week)
